ARPA-E held its 12th ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit from May 23-25, 2022, at the Gaylord Rockies Convention Center, right outside of Denver, CO.

-
The virtual ARPA-E Reactive Carbon Capture Workshop was hosted by Program Directors Dr. Jack Lewnard and Dr. David Tew on Wednesday & Thursday, February 2 & 3, 2022.  The workshop brought together thought leaders with backgrounds in fuel synthesis, carbon capture, and process engineering (among others) to identify opportunities and potentially transformational technology approaches for inexpensive conversion of diffuse or point-source CO2 to high-value chemical intermediates and/or fuel products.

The ARPA-E Fellows team held an information session at 5pm ET on Monday, January 10, 2022 for those interested in applying to become an ARPA-E fellow.

-
The workshop convened leading experts in the field of datacenter thermal management with the objective to identify innovative research paths forward for the development of disruptive technologies that enable transformational high efficiency cooling methods for new and existing datacenters.

This event brought energy investors and strategics together to hear technology pitches from a select group of ARPA-E teams, with a focus towards the Houston energy ecosystem. This event provided an opportunity for folks to connect with ARPA-E awardees, ARPA-E staff, and Greentown Labs staff.

-
The primary objective of this workshop was to solicit input from a cross-section of the battery research community and industry to inform development of a potential funding opportunity announcement (FOA) on this topic. The potential program would aim to achieve a minimum performance level, AFTER 500 capacity turnovers, equivalent to 450 Wh/kg and 80% charging in 15 minutes or less.

-
The objective of this workshop was to explore compelling R&D opportunities in Low-Energy Nuclear Reactions (LENR) in support of developing metrics for a potential ARPA-E R&D program in LENR.

-
The objective of this workshop is to solicit stakeholder feedback and ideas regarding the scope of a potential disruptive program focused on technologies to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions from the production of iron and steel.

-
The Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) organized a virtual workshop from noon to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, and Wednesday, July 28. The objective of this workshop was to solicit stakeholder feedback and ideas regarding the scope of a potential, new “Converting UNF Radioisotope Inventories into Energy” (CURIE) program focused on economically and securely recycling the nation’s existing commercial used nuclear fuel.

-
The primary purpose of this workshop was to discuss research opportunities targeting enhanced mineralization of atmospheric carbon as a tool for both sequestration and the liberation of energy relevant elements. The discussions in this workshop could help inform a potential future program in this area.
